Vision
This research unit aims to develop mechanisms for dialogue, fostering understanding of differences, diversity, and pluralism, while drawing from Islamic and human heritage. By utilizing religious and philosophical thought to identify shared values and virtues, the unit seeks to enhance dialogue, cooperation, development, and promote peace among peoples worldwide.
Objectives
The objectives of this unit are aligned with the vision and the mission of Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, and can be outlined as follows:
Identifying and addressing obstacles to dialogue by moving beyond past conflicts and biases, shifting from religious debates to a dialogue of understanding and collaboration.
Promoting a culture of dialogue grounded in knowledge of the philosophy and jurisprudence of dialogue, its etiquette, conditions, types, levels, and participants. This involves highlighting shared religious and human values among followers of different religions, philosophies, and worldviews.
Developing visions and proposing ideas for projects and initiatives that foster dialogue between followers of religions and religious philosophies, with a focus on current issues such as countering hate speech, combating contempt for religions and beliefs, and fostering partnerships among religious institutions to promote tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect.
Enhancing the role of religion in societies by training religious leaders and facilitating scientific and cultural exchanges among religious institutions and organizations.
