The birth of a New Journal in Europe with an Internal Islamic Approach

The Islamic Library in Europe was strengthened with a new scientific journal, “Ijtihad Journal for Arabic and Islamic Studies.” The journal is issued by the Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training in Belgium, and is registered in the Royal Belgian Library (KBR) and the National Scientific Library, under the serial number: ISSN: 2983-9939. The journal is semi-annual, peer-reviewed according to international academic standards, and is specialised in Arabic and Islamic studies in Europe and the West. The journal is supervised by a large team of researchers, experts, and thinkers.

International Conference on Religion and Society in Europe

The Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training in Belgium organized the first international scientific conference, in cooperation with the Bayan Center for Research and Community Issues and the Faculty of Arabic Language, Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh, on the topic: “Religion and Society in Europe: Determinants, Challenges, and Outcomes,” on February 25, 2023 in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco. Researchers and experts from six countries (Morocco, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Spain) belonging to various universities and research centers participated in this conference.

Lecture on Islamic Presence in Europe

In collaboration between the Manar Academy for Training in Spain and the Ijtihad Center, a lecture was organized on May 18, 2024, on the topic: Islamic Presence in Europe: Roots and Extension. This lecture was given by Tijani Boulaouali and was followed more than 100 people.

The Need for Human Brotherhood

A lecture organized by the Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training in partnership with the European Islamic College in Ghent, under the title: The Need for Human Brotherhood in Times of Conflict, Fear and Misery, on March 31, 2024, on the occasion of the month of Ramadan. This meeting was attended by a group of students and professors, and concluded with the organization of a Ramadan Iftar in an atmosphere of brotherhood and spirituality.

Second Discussion Meeting on the Prophet Muhammad and its Meaning for our Contemporary Context

The second intellectual discussion meeting, on the topic: What does the Prophet Muhammad mean to our contemporary context? organized by Al-Jisr Association and the Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, in Waregem, Belgium, on October 15, 2022. This meeting was organized on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, with the participation of the speakers: Al-Tijani Boulawali and Muhammad Mansouri.

Fourth Discission Meeting on Family in a Multicultural Context

Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, in cooperation with the Al-Jisr Association in Waregem, Belgium, organized the fourth discussion meeting under the title: The Family in a Multicultural Context, on June 16, 2023. Speakers participated in this symposium: Hilmi Lazhar, Mohamed Chatouani, Tijani Boulaouali, and Mohammed Mansouri.

Introducing the Prophet Muhammad to children

Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, in cooperation with Al-Mustaqbal َSchool and the Libyan Youth Association, organized an introductory day about the character of the Prophet Muhammad for all classes and levels of Al-Mustaqbal School. This event falls within the framework of parallel activities supervised by the Ijtihad Center with the aim of providing educational support to children and developing their religious and cultural identity. This activity was organized on Sunday, November 27, 2023.

Dealing with the Environment in Islam

Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, in cooperation with Al-Mustaqbal School and the Libyan Youth Association, organized an awareness day for children under the title: Dealing with the Environment in Islam, on February 20, 2022, at Al-Mustaqbal Mosque in Ghent, Belgium. This activity concluded with the distribution of gifts, food and drinks to all pupils children in the presence of their parents.

Discover the Arabic Language

Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training, in cooperation with Al-Mustaqbal School and the Libyan Youth Association, organized an introductory day for children under the title: Discover the Arabic Language, on December 24, 2022, on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day. This event included a range of activities, such as writing, drawing, coloring, and documentaries about the Arabic language.

"Quranic Sciences from A to Z" Module

In cooperation between the Ijtihad Center for Studies and Training and the European Islamic College in Ghent, the module “Qur’anic Sciences from A to Z” was organized. This course was given in 15 lectures, in the Dutch language, between February and June 2024. The lecturer Dr. Tijani Boulaouali discussed in this module various sciences and topics of the Qur’an, such as the history of the Qur’an, the revelation, the reasons for the revelation, the abrogation, the inimitability of the Qur’an, and others.

Sixth Discussion Meeting on Maqasid Sharia

In cooperation between the Ijtihad Center and De Brug "Al-Jisr" Association in Waregem, the sixth discussion meeting will be organized on January 26, 2024, on the topic: The Maqasid of Islamic Law and its Importance for the Muslims in Europe. Speakers participated in this symposium: Abderrahim Dahdah, Mohamed Zakaria Almuqdad, Tijani Boulaouali, and Mohamed Mansouri.

International Symposium

Ijtihad Center participated in an international symposium on the topic: Social Sciences and Serving Contemporary Human Issues, in cooperation with the Manahil Center, the Al-Omran Center, and the Jordanian Rakaz Publishing House, on January 23 and 24, 2024 in the city of Al-Aroui in Morocco. The chairman of the center, Dr. Tijani Boulaouali gave a speech on this occasion.

A Lecture on Islamic Institutions in Europe

In a collaboration between the Manar Academy for Training in Spain and the Ijtihad Center, a lecture was organized on December 30, 2023, on the topic: The Islamic institutions in the European context: history, roles and challenges. This lecture was given by Tijani Boulaouali and was followed by 116 people.

Fifth Discussion Meeting on Sorcery and its moral and social impact on Muslims in Europe

In cooperation between the Ijtihad Center and De Brug "Al-Jisr" Association in Waregem, the fifth discussion meeting was organized on December 16, 2023, on the topic: The Scourges of Witchcraft and Sorcery and their Moral and Social Impact on Muslims in Europe. Speakers participated in this symposium: Sharif Slimani, Tijani Boulaouali, and Mohamed Mansouri.

Fifth Formation Session on "Studies of Islam in the West"

In cooperation between the Ijtihad Center and the Umran Center in Morocco, the fifth formation session on "Studies of Islam in the West". This formation was devoted to students, researchers, and interesting people during the academic year 2022-2023. It's followed by 160 persons. The fifth session was on the topic: The Future of Islam in Europe and the Expected Scenarios.
